Golf Course Brief:: Shaftesbury Glen is an English style parkland course located along the Waccmaw River. It is beautiful blend of traditional rectangular tee boxes, wide open flat fairways, elevated greens, formidable bunkers on the fairways as well as some big ones that guard the greens. The course is always in pristine condition and is a superb fishing venue too, as it sits along the Waccamaw River. The A1 greens are large, very fast and undulating. Pines trees abound along the sides of the fairways but don’t come into play unless you hit an errant shot into them. There are many sand traps that come in all sizes, shapes and depths. Many of these bunkers are banked at a level that leaves it challenging to get out of and onto the playing surface, although Mr. Johnson left some gaps to be able to get your ball though them and onto the green. It is safe to say that the entire course does not have a forced carry on any hole. Although you might consider some of the sand traps a forced carry with their size. Try to avoid them the best you can. This is a very playable and enjoyable course.

Range Balls: Full range - Driving, chipping and putting is available for practice from dawn until dusk daily and balls are available to purchase - One size fits all $4 a bag. Range balls are complimentary if you book a package and are staying at one of the courses accommodations. Note rates are subject to change on occasion.
Golf School/Instruction: : PGA professionals available 7 days a week to help improve your game or our sister course at Possums Trot has a full school.
Guest Policy: Proper attire, soft spikes, carts required, Bermuda length shorts or walking shorts allowed (no denim pants or shorts). Mens shirts must have a collar. Women’s shirts w/out sleeves must have collars; if without a collar then it must have sleeves. Halter tops and bathing suits tops are not permitted.
Course maintenance schedule or other notes: Summer maintenance generally takes place the last week of June. Exact dates are not posted because they do change depending on the season. If you are scheduling playing during these months call for exact dates.
Golf Course and Club House Amenities: The course has a full-service pro shop and a large driving range, chipping and putting green as well. The clubhouse includes a full-service restaurant/snack bar, and there are restrooms and a beverage cart available on both nines.
